Saint Lucy, gifted with surpassing beauty and wisdom,

Saint Lucy, an example of obedience,

Saint Lucy, who did cure your own mother,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who did consecrate your virginity to God,

Saint Lucy, who did despise worldly honours,

Saint Lucy, who did refuse to sacrifice to the false gods,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who did adore the true God,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, heroic in sacrifice,

Saint Lucy, who did distribute your wealth to the poor,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, courageous in your answer to the pagan judge,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, strengthened by the grace of God,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, whose hands and feet were tied with cords,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who was thrown into a fiery furnace,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, whose neck was cut asunder by the executioner,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who did prophesize the defeat of cruel tyrants,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who did offer your life for God,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, martyred for the faith of Christ,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who restores sight to the blind,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who works many miracles,

   pray for us.

Saint Lucy, who won the Crown of Martyrdom,

   pray for us.

Lamb of God, Who takest away the sins of the world,

   Spare us, O Lord.

V. Pray for us, Saint Lucy,

R.    that we may be made worthy of the promises of Jesus Christ.

Let Us Pray

Almighty and Eternal God, Who did protect your servant Saint Lucy, on earth and did bestow on her the crown of martyrdom in Heaven, grant us also Your protection here below, and bestow on us the crown of glory in Heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
